Compared with other banks of the same time that were receiving awards, this bank branch, still owned by Astoria Federal Savings, is a throwback to the classical and austere banks designed to assure customers with stability and grandeur. The bank is three stories of concrete and steel but the exterior is clad in Indiana limestone, granite and brick. Even the original clock above the entrance is still in place and overall the bank continues to act as a more than 50-year old institutional presence in this location.
