I’d like to thank the following for their support of Queens Modern: The Architects (to read the acknowledgements for the original Queens Modern project scroll down).
There have been many people whose assistance has been invaluable in making this project happen.
First and foremost, the Queens Chamber of Commerce and its Executive Director, Jack Friedman, have supported the project since the very beginning and given me access to Chamber archives and documentation relating to the Awards program. I hope to work on this moving forward with them as a continued partner.
The project was made possible with a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. The Van Alen Institute served as fiscal conduit for the grant.
I’d also like to acknowledge other building owners, experts, friends, and colleagues who have helped:
Joseph Coen, Archivist, Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn
Leo D. Fakler
Rabbi Mordechai Zev Hecht, Anshe Sholom Chabad JCC
Matthew R. Ivler, Mount Lebanon Cemetery
