The Plaxall Building won an award as an alteration to an existing industrial mill building from 1880. This rehabilitation included installing concrete floors, glass brick-aluminum framed windows and coating the facade in cream-colored concrete stucco. Demonstrating the way buildings and trends evolve, this structure was recently re-altered with the concrete stucco facade removed to expose the original brick. Some of the glass brick has also been removed to insert more traditional, paned windows. Next door, Plaxall owns additional structures including one that still has mid-century features including multi-colored facade tiles in orange, green and blue; as well as period lighting fixtures visible in the main entrance stairwell.
