St. Theresa’s R.C. Church

| | | | | |

St. Theresa’s Church remains an imposing presence in this relatively low-rise and residential section of Woodside. The design is traditionally Romanesque with little in the way of modern detailing. The materials used are buff brick with limestone detailing and a tile roof. The interior includes marble and limestone and is completely fireproof. The neighboring school closed in 2005.

Long Island City Savings Bank

This building still exists although its original use as a bank is no longer apparent. While the structure maintains its granite base, brick face, and limestone trim, the space is now used by a pharmacy and karate studio, both of whom have obscured the front with signage. Another telltale sign of the original building are two limestone medallions on either end of the facade.
